BACK TO SOUTH THAILAND,AO NANG.

Arrived back in Thailand after quite a day, took a plane instead of the train to gain a day and only to find the hotel had messed up our booking made over the internet, tried to charge an exhorbitant price but "queenie" sorted them out! It is again very warm but the humidity level is more acceptable. There is quite a long bus ride from Krabi airport in a coach which would not be allowed to operate in the U.K. it had air conditioning, my window was broken!and some tacky curtains to keep out the sun, what a heap,Im suprised it made it all.All the bags were thrown in a pile behind the driver! luckily he did not have to brake hard.

This evening we went out to eat and met our first russians from siberia, the woman did charades and illustrated they had a metre of snow.Serves them right, they can keep it,it seems they are getting all over in Thailand. There was a fantastic sunset tonight at 1800,i am going to try a photograph it tomorrow evening,Ill post it if I can manage it.

I have to say I have found an airport terminal worse than Heathrow terminal 3,and I did not think it was possible,it is KL international,it is rubbish and very poorly organised, and that is an understatement.
Air Asia is very good with nice aircraft airbus 320s,new and shiny.

LAST FULL DAY IN KUALA LUMPUR.

The day started with a really demanding couple of hours by the swimming pool on the roof,we had to force ourselves up there before the usual afternoon rain arrives, again it is hot and humid,oh, the hardship!
After lunch "Queenie" decided we would pay homage to the better end" shops in central K.L.,one of the attractions for me is that they are cool in both senses of the word.We had not realised it but today is the start of the Hindu festival of light "Divali"which lasts for five days of bright clothes, noise,(music) and celebrations. I didnt really understand too much but they seemed to be having a good time. The Muslims and the local size fours all seemeed to be joining in,which was nice to see in this day and age.
We have mastered the local bus services, which  is a bit of an achievement as the signs are impossible for us to read, getting off the bus is the challenge, the trick is to miss the cars! We returned to the magnificent "Petronas", building for the last time,it did not rain and it shone brightly in its stainless steel cladding.
Tomorrow we head back to south Thailand,"Ao Nang" to be precise.Tonight will be taken up with sorting out and packing,a quiet night, cleaning, washing, paperwork, and planning the next bit
I have learned the curry  grades, mild, medium, hot, and "Usain Bolt".
 To be continued......

FORGET THE HEATING BILL

OK,Ill send some pictures of somewhere warm, and a little dog.

Hot Rain

I think I have probably lost it,I am sitting on the roof on the 18th floor next to an infinity pool,it is 32 degrees and lashing down with rain.

"Queenie" has lost it for certain, she is in a hot tub! There is a muslim lady with a complete penguin outfit on,in mafia black, she has been swimming in this get up,she has lost it!The guy with her is very furry, even more than usual, maybe she is as well, who knows, maybe we have all lost it!

We have been sorting out a flight to "Krabi" in Thailand.39000 feet is better than hours of driving with this lot.Seemingly if you can get 17 and the family dog on a moped,a choir in a car,a driving licence is presented to you on a stick. The Chinese have to carry48 chickens on a bike against the traffic - easy.

Now a lady has arrived to take the towels,if she thinks my bottom can stand the heat she is wrong,I am out of here! hold on, "Queenie" has fallen over getting out of the hot tub, very spectacular.she is now into self diagnosis and self healing for a bruised elbow and swelling finger.

Yesterday,I saw a rat come out of a drain,it looked very nervous,it probably had a price on its head of about 22 ringets in "China Town"  The good bit is the toast is probably free.

PETRONUS TOWERS

Vertigo from the worlds largest twin tower building and one of the tallest .

Patronas and more

Well ,what a day.1st an early visit up the tower and that crazy husband of mine got the guards doing the 'gangnam dance' at the top ,then arranged the applause.Everyone was happy. The tower was impressive and sooo high.Only downside is you have allocated time on the walkway and at the top.
.
Today we have achieved O levels in KL transport. Not easy as buying tickets etc is written in spaghetti, not a language I know. They do not have travel agents or similar here so we went to the central bus/train station to book our onward train to Krabi.A delightfully unhelpfull information assistant told us there were no trains until 16th,then standing room only!!!or 3rd class hard seat.No other choices offered and all my suggestions met with not available.Alan thought he might book a camel out, surprisingly that wasn't available.

Back at hotel now trying to book an Air Asia flight to Krabi or Hat Yai but their site isnt taking bookings at present..today we didn't get caught in the rain.Whoopee.
